Welcome to If you can't measure it, you can't manage it. In this module, you will work through a number of concepts that will help you refine your farm business analysis skills. Using this information you will be able to:

- transfer profit and loss information into the DairyBase collection template accurately
- apply cash and accrual accounting principles to invoices
- understand the importance of certain DairyBase definitions and apply these standards to your data. This includes what to include and leave out around dairy farm income
- apply cost of production calculations and explain why the lowest cost of production is not always the most effective for your farm business
- contextualise your analysis results and score the season appropriately. 

The following terms will be used throughout this module. It's a good idea to be familiar with these before reading the module.
