Overview:
In this module we will explore the Smarter Irrigation for Profit project, a cross agriculture research and development investment looking at improving plant productivity and farm business profitability through more efficient and effective irrigation practice. You will have the opportunity to review the latest research produced by the project for developing your technical expertise and apply educational design principles of problem based learning to design new models for extension and farmer engagement that enhance the real world reach and impact of the Smarter Irrigation for Profit project.

Learning Outcomes
ln this module, you will undertake a series of learning experiences in the context of the Smart Feeding Project. Upon completion of this moduel you will be able to:
- Identify and describe technological innovations implemented in farm irrigation systems.
- Analyse the role of efficient irrigation management practices for optimising yield potential of fodder and enabling environmentally responsive and profitable farming systems.
- Evaluate the role of the Smarter Irrigation for Profit project in translation of research for influencing on farm practice change.
- Analyse and evaluate the role of problem-based learning experiences for the delivery of real-world dairy learning opportunities.
- Demonstrate effective
communication practice in a virtual learning environment

Module Content
Part 1: Part 1 will introduce you to the focus project for this module - Smarter Irrigation for Profit. The learning activities will provide an insight into the role and importance of irrigation to the dairy industry and specific research and development being conducted to improve irrigation efficiency and farm profitability.

Module 2 - Part 3
Part 1 of module 2 explores the emerging research findings from the dairy industry led Smart Irrigation Project. The module will also begin by introducing concepts of smart irrigation, which will be an important foundation for problem-based learning activities which you complete throughout the module.
