Welcome to the online learning modules for Automatic Milking Systems (AMS)

Milking Edge was a four year national project, with industry collaboration from Dairy Australia, NSW Department of Primary Industries and DeLaval.  The project takes many of the learnings captured from the decade long R&D project, Future Dairy along with the experience from over 40 commercial AMS farms in Australia, to develop and deliver an education and extension strategy which supports farmers and industry to consider, invest and operate AMS technology successfully. 

The learning modules aim to preserve and expand the knowledge and technical capacity around AMS within the Australian Dairy Industry through eight topic-based modules. The first module details both the opportunities and the challenges faced when operating automated (robotic) milking systems and is suited to those considering investing in the technology, new to working with the technology (farm staff or owner operators) or those advising clients with similar systems.

The modules vary in length depending on the topic. The module can be completed over various stages, and does not need to be completed all at once.
