Dairy discussion groups enable dairy farmers to share ideas and learn from each other’s experiences. A dairy farmer discussion group is a group of people engaged in the business of dairy farming.
The group may have either a specific focus (eg mastitis) or cover a number of topics throughout the year. Groups can be established to solve a particular problem with a short timeframe or they can be ongoing.
Discussion groups are a flagship initiative of the extension support provided to dairy farmers in supporting their business development and have historically been run as face to face gatherings.Changes to the business operating environment as a result of COVID-19 have required Dairy Australia to develop ways for discussion groups to continue effectively in an online environment. These new modes of delivery use several online platforms to enable participants to partake in the dairy discussion group experience. |
