• Feeding & Farm Systems

    • Supports farmers and employees with the basics of ruminant nutrition. Participants will learn via 2–3 classroom days and an optional on-farm session about feed quality, how cows digest feed nutrients, and comparing and budgeting feed costs.

      Mode: 2-3 days in-person workshops and online learning

    • Supports farmers and service providers to improve herd nutrition practices. Participants will gain technical knowledge, strategic planning and problem-solving skills, and access tools to implement nutrition management strategies.

      Mode: 8 days in-person workshops and online learning

    • Supports farmers to achieve a profitable balance between homegrown feed and supplement use. Participants will learn via 2 classroom days and 5 on-farm sessions, focusing on ryegrass and adapted for regions with other common grazed forages.

      Mode: 12 months in-person workshops

    • Supports farmers and service providers to improve silage-making (focus on pasture/maize). Participants will learn the science/economics of crop selection, silage additives, feed testing, fitting silage and reducing losses during the process.

      Mode: 2 days in-person workshops and online learning

    • Provides practical knowledge in ryegrass grazing management including the identification of key growth stages, manage grazing rotations and residuals to support profitable pasture-based feeding systems.
